Kidde Canada Inc. has previously notified you (Safety Bulletin IG-11-03-2014) of a supplier quality issue that may impact the function of Badger Industrial Guard system cylinders. Due to the potential defect, the cylinder valve fusible plugs could deteriorate and thereby depressurize the agent cylinders. Depressurized cylinders cannot discharge agent when called upon.
Kidde Canada is committed to ensuring that all IG systems function fully as intended. To help prevent further issues, Kidde Canada has secured a new supplier and have implemented additional process controls for all new fusible plugs. To ensure existing IG system installations perform as intended, this bulletin requires replacement of fusible plugs for all existing applications using Badger IG suppression system cylinders and valves manufactured from August 1, 2012 through December 10, 2014. Action may be required on your part.
